Ford recalls Bronco models for hardtop roof panel detachment issues
Ford Motor Company has issued a recall affecting 16,200 units of its popular 2021-2022 Bronco SUV due to a safety concern involving the hardtop roof panels. Both 3-door and 5-door models are impacted by this issue, which may cause improperly manufactured outer roof panels to separate and potentially detach from the vehicle during operation.
To address the problem, Ford dealers will conduct inspections and replace the hardtop roofs as needed, free of charge. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notification letters from Ford by May 27, 2026, informing them of the safety risk. The automaker plans to send a second letter once the required fixes become available, which is expected around November 2026.
Ford has advised customers with questions or concerns about the recall to reach out to Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. This proactive measure aims to ensure the safety of Bronco owners and the broader driving public.
